How to Register your Xbox on the Muhlenberg Network

Every network card, including the ones in Xboxes, has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. In order for any computer to access Muhlenberg’s network, its MAC address must be registered with the network. These instructions will show you how to find this MAC address so that the Student Help Desk can register it with campus manager.

How to Fix BergWiFi Auto-Connect Issue (Mac only)

On October 19, 2012, OIT issued a BergWiFi update to enable the faster 802.11n wireless specification. The update also change the security method from WPA to WPA2. This change resulted in BergWiFi connectivity problems for both Macs and PCs. Any Mac that has the old WPA setting saved will be unable to connect automatically to BergWiFi when waking from sleep (the user must choose BergWiFi from the list on each wake from sleep).
This tutorial will show you how to fix the auto-connect problem on a Mac. To fix Windows connectivity problems that resulted from the WiFi update, follow the PC version of this tutorial. Continue reading

How to Fix BergWiFi Security Settings (Windows only)

On October 19, 2012, OIT issued a BergWiFi update to enable the faster 802.11n wireless specification. The update also changed the security type from WPA to WPA2. This change resulted in BergWiFi connectivity problems for both Macs and PCs. Any PC that has the old security setting (WPA) will be unable to connect to BergWiFi until the setting is changed to WPA2.
